Love seeing how Kal-El's relationship with Jor-El developed, and seeing how it sets up the rivalry between Kal and Lex.

The scene with Valora and Bru-El trying to see what ground zero of a nuclear explosion would be like was great. And the reveal of there injuries and the explanation of there powers was really well handled to.

Cary Bates and Renato Arlem are really hitting it out of the park with this series, I'm looking forward to seeing how the story wraps up.

Hopefully this isn't a one off and we'll get more Elseworlds of this quality.

I have been able to download the beta client "successfully," however now the client boot file crashes as soon as I try to start it... ugh. If I'm not able to get in, I just may have to wait for the retail release at the end of the month (September 30th I believe).

Anyhow, has anyone else been able to successfully get into the open beta, and if so, what are your thoughts so far?

His DC Comics counterpart, Trigon, is also pretty cool.

Aside from the bit with the landlady which sounds like an attempt at Bendis-speak, the preview looks good.
I'm certainly liking Davis' art.

This issue was a look at Jason as he travels around the world and is trained in various areas by different experts. Couple of interesting things I fliked in the issue were when he is sitting with Talia who asks him why he is killing off the people who trained him as he goes. He explains his reasoning for each case followed by saying the difference between him and Bruce is Bruce puts them in jail and he takes them out.

I also liked his reaction to learning about Tim Drake taking up the role of Robin. All in all I really liked this issue and am excited for the next one.

Two very well-written articles came out today that are somewhat related. I thought I'd put them out here to start up some discussion.

Mark Waid re-delivers his controversial keynote address from the Harvey Awards on CBR...in print.

David Brothers (of blogs, like the 4th Letter, Comics Alliance, and The Factual Opinion) writes about embracing digital comics.

Mark Waid's address, especially, raises some good points. I don't think torrenting and file-sharing are morally right, but it seems like they're not going away. Publishers take one site down and another pops up right away. Maybe it's time to try and utilize that method in a way that benefits the industry?

Both of these articles more or less deal with the future of comics. But more importantly, they tell us that maybe the "future" is happening right now. File-sharing and digital comics...maybe these can be used to help this industry flourish like it once did.
